Hi, my name is Shawna Walker and I am excited to be the new counselor at EHS. I am happily married and the mother of two children. My daughter will be starting college at LCC in September and my son will be starting the 5th grade. I am originally from Roseburg and moved to Klamath Falls in 1998 to attend OIT. In 2000, I received my Bachelors in Applied Psychology and began working as a Juvenile Probation Officer here in Klamath Falls. While with the juvenile department, I was involved with helping start the YAT team and spent a considerable amount of time helping to keep kids in school. In 2005, I started working for the District Attorney's office as a Legal Assistant until I decided on a career as a school counselor. In August 2008, I began my counseling career with the Klamath County School District. I resigned after the school year ended and was soon offered a job at EHS. I believe that EHS is a better fit for me and will allow me to construct a program around the needs of the students. I have an incredible passion for helping teens and a strong belief in education. I am excited to be working with such a talented group of students and hope to learn as much from them as they will from me. |
