Dianne Spires
I am a Certified Public Accountant, working my entire career in Klamath Falls. I am a partner in the accounting firm of Rusth Spires and Menefee, LLP. Tax seasons are busy yet are my favorite part of the job.
I have lived in the Klamath Basin since I was 6 months old. I love the basin; I believe it is the best place to raise a family. My husband, Oliver, and I have two children. Our daughter, Alycia, is an attorney working as a deputy DA in Clackamas County. Our son, Cory, is a senior at OIT and plays baseball on the OIT baseball team.
Project based learning is what I love about EagleRidge High School. I saw this concept at work in a program my daughter was in at KU called DECA. In a way it is very similar to the concept of project based learning. I could see that the kids loved to go to that class and worked extra hard often to the detriment of other classes. I really believe that some children were meant for this type of learning. That is why EagleRidge is so special. It can be the perfect fit. I am so excited to see EagleRidge High School students give presentations. Their improvement is amazing. EagleRidge is preparing these students for life. It is so exciting to watch.
An interesting factoid: My father and brother owned and operated the Chevrolet automobile dealership at 677 S 7th Street, the site of the new EagleRidge High School. I started working at age 16 in the service department that is now the cafeteria. I also spent a summer or two working in the parts department which is the space now occupied by Mr. Martinez, Mrs. Cole, Mrs. Amos and Mrs. Ratliff.
